Thatcham Town Away

After losing the toss and being put in to bowl first the boys got off to a good start with the opening bowlers, Callum and Sumaan, keeping the run rate down and Callum taking an early wicket. Thatcham then enjoyed a period of dominance that was broken in the 13th over by Salman who went on with the help of Callum and Sumaan to break down their middle and lower order.
After taking 8 wickets as a team we had a reasonable score to chase down of 125 but after a slow start with our top 3 batsmen getting out within 5 overs we were faced with a challenge. Kishore then scored 41, batting until the last over when he was unlucky to be run out. He would have made 50 if the outfield hadn't been so slow. The team (and supporters) showed great spirit with lots of cheering as he came off.
With a slight collapse in the middle order we fell short by 31 runs which could have been made on another day from the top order.
Man of the Match was awarded to two players:
Salman for taking 4 wickets and 2 superb catches.
Kishore for making an excellent 41 under pressure.
