It was a good effort from a weaker Reading side against Emmbrook and Bearwood - likely to become top of the league.
After electing to bat, Simeon was unlucky to get out LBW as he believed the ball hit the bat. This was then followed by a great partnership between Callum (15) and Kishore (18). There was then a middle order collapse but Sumaan came in and secured the innings with a great 15 not out towards the end, helping to achieve our total of 80, which earned us 3 batting bonus points.
Our bowling was mostly quite good but defending 80 against a side with many county and development players was always going to be very challenging! We need to keep developing our fielding skills.
Once again the game was played in a good spirit and we look forward to playing at Kidmore End next Wed..
Thanks to Akeel for umpiring (first half) again despite not feeling well, to Chris for scoring again and to the parents who supported.
