After deciding to bowl we got off to a good start by restricting their runs to 16 for 1 off 4 overs. But from then on their batsmen took control of the game, their No.1 and 3 batsmen each retiring on 50+. They then made another 40 odd runs to set a challenging total of 159.
Wickets for Reading came with 2 each from Kishore and Sumaan and 1 from Simeon.
Our batting didn't get off to a good start and we never really looked like chasing the total as our early batsmen gave up their wickets too easily, making the chase almost impossible after the half way mark! We also needed to take more singles. Kishore was again Man of the Match and the highest scorer on 24.
The league table shows us on 12 points (gained from runs scored and wickets taken) in 4th position out of 7 teams.
We need to be much more vocal, encouraging each other in future matches, please.
Let's keep attending training and practise in the nets at other times.
Thanks to Akeel and Shub for umpiring / warming up again, Chris for scoring and Sofia for serving drinks.
