The 2nd XI won the toss and elected to bat first against Peppard CC.
RCC lost 4 quick wickets before the first 15 over. However, Gaaj and Tom stuck in well at the crease and there hard running between the wickets allowed them to build a strong partnership of 90 runs, with Tom hitting a vital 34 runs. Extra credit goes towards Inderjeet for his power hitting abilities allowing the team to get an extra 27 runs. But Gaaj’s smart and sensible century allowed RCC to finish on 252 runs.
The second innings was a very challenging start of RCC as Peppard only lost there first wicket in the 14th over after scoring 61 runs. However, the bowlers bowled patiently and stuck to there line and lengths well which allowed them to bring down Peppards run rate and forcing them to loose quick wickets.
Hersh and Inderjeet bowled exceptionally well taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively. A first win of the season for the 2’s who will be hoping to keep this good form going.
