Reading Tigers won a close contest in bitterly cold conditions to win against Sonning B last Sunday 29th April. Sonning batted first and looked confident with Jack Hallet and Salman batting well before Matthew produce a good ball to dismiss Jack Hallet for 10, before Aariz had Salman caught for 8 by our wicketkeeper captain Henry. Aariz had another victim soon after having Max Redding caught behind again by Henry.
Continue good bowling by Manu, Kaif, Uzaid, Sam, Jibran and Ben, as well as hard work in the field restricted Sonning to 61 runs off their 20 overs.
At the start of readings reply, Sonning's opening bowler struck first ball to bowl our captain Henry, befor claiming a second wicket later in the over. Reading were deep in trouble losing their first 2 wickets without scoring.
The ship was steadied by Sam who retired on 20 not out, and Wasim who was out near the end for 17 who was supported by Kaif.
With Sonning managing to keep the runs down it was getting tense before Jibran came to the crease and swiped a mighty blow to the boundary for 4 to seal the victory.
Well done on a good performance in difficult conditions.
